Patient Account Representative II – Corporate

About the role

The Patient Account Representative II (Corporate) works within the Business Office to manage patient accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures. Reporting to the Manager and Supervisor, this full‑time, day‑shift position provides guidance to Level I staff and resolves complex billing issues while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Collection Supervisor in identifying and addressing account issues.
• Process patient accounts accurately and timely, adhering to departmental policies.
• Interpret and apply state, federal, HIPAA, HCFA, TennCare, and third‑party payer guidelines.
• Provide training and support to Level I representatives on complex cases.
• Escalate situations requiring supervision and seek appropriate resources.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle regulations and payer requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong integrity and adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
• No current disciplinary action as a Level I representative.

Required skills

• HIPAA compliance knowledge.
• Understanding of HCFA guidelines.
• Familiarity with TennCare regulations.
• Experience with third‑party payer processes.
