Plumber I-II – Facility Maintenance (Multiple Locations)

About the role

Under general supervision, the Plumber I‑II provides comprehensive plumbing and gas‑fitting services for school and other facility equipment. The position works primarily on‑site across multiple locations, handling installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of plumbing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair plumbing and gas‑fitting equipment.
• Install, replace, prefabricate and alter piping and related components.
• Perform routine maintenance on school building systems and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Mentor and assist less‑experienced tradespeople as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
• Minimum four years progressive plumbing experience (two years at apprentice II level for Plumber I).
• Valid Backflow Prevention Certification.
• Active Journeyman Plumber License.

Required skills

• Plumbing and gas‑fitting techniques.
• Use of trade‑specific tools and equipment.
• Operation of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Basic computer literacy for administrative software.
