Senior Financial Accountant – Treasury, Reporting & Systems

About the role

The Science for Africa Foundation is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to lead treasury, reporting and systems functions. You will ensure robust cash management, deliver insightful financial analysis and support the continuous improvement of our finance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day treasury operations, monitor cash balances and coordinate banking relationships.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, liquidity projections and support scenario analysis for financial sustainability.
• Coordinate the production of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports, executive dashboards and board‑level financial presentations.
• Oversee finance system administration, support ERP configuration, testing and implementation of enhancements.
• Identify cash‑flow risks, recommend mitigation actions and drive continuous improvement in reporting quality and timeliness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent) and membership in a recognised body.
• Minimum seven years of relevant experience, including treasury management, financial planning and ERP support.
• Experience in donor‑funded or international development organisations is an advantage.

• Reporting and visualisation tools (dashboard reporting, business intelligence).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
