Senior Full-Stack Engineer (React/Java)

About the role

Andela is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a hybrid team building financial-services software for a leading fintech client. The role combines front-end development with React/Next.js and back-end microservices using Java, while also integrating advanced AI capabilities such as large language models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop front-end services with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript and frameworks such as React, Next.js and KoaJS.
• Create and maintain reusable, highly responsive UI components.
• Design and implement full-stack solutions using micro-service and micro-frontend architectures.
• Build back-end microservices in Java with Spring Boot and Apache Camel.
• Integrate system interfaces using SOAP, REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Incorporate Large Language Models to add intelligent features, automated summarisation and natural-language interfaces.
• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines with vector databases to extend LLM knowledge with domain-specific data.
• Architect and deploy Model Context Protocol servers to expose core APIs and data securely to AI assistants and agents.
• Implement governance, security and rate-limiting controls for AI-driven tool integrations.

Required profile

• Proven senior-level experience in full-stack development for financial or fintech applications.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLM technologies into production systems.
• Ability to deliver high-availability services with a focus on zero major defects.
