Senior Supply Chain Management Officer

About the role

The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC), a Constitutional Commission of Kenya, is recruiting one Senior Supply Chain Management Officer (NGEC Scale 5, Ref: NGEC/HR/2/9/2026) based in Nairobi. The post is permanent and pensionable, with a basic salary of Ksh 183,000 to 269,300, a commuter allowance of Ksh 14,000 and leave allowance as existing in the Commission.

Key responsibilities

• Implement laws, regulations and policies on procurement management
• Prepare estimates of expenditure on supplies and services
• Prepare bid documents, quotations and proposals
• Participate in opening and evaluation of tenders
• Process procurement of assigned tenders and quotations for goods and services
• Prepare annual procurement and disposal plans
• Manage procurement contracts
• Oversee stores and inventory management
• Coordinate disposal of obsolete and unserviceable assets

Required profile

• Served in the grade of Supply Chain Management Officer I or a relevant comparable public service position for at least three years
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Business Management or another relevant qualification
• Professional qualification in Procurement (CPSP-K or CIPS Level 6)
• Valid membership and practitioner license of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
• Computer skills and attendance at a Senior Management Course
• Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and proven merit and results
