Declarant - Ant (M/F)

About the role

Africa Global Logistics Kenya is hiring a Declarant-Ant (male/female) based in Nairobi and reporting to the Supervisor-Bond and Customs Documentation. The role covers bond applications and lodging, statutory letters and applications, documentation and records, and Nairobi export verification.

Key responsibilities

• Bond applications and lodging: prepare and submit bond applications and supporting documents at Sameer and Ardhi House, lodge bond entries and customs documentation within required timelines, and follow up on approvals, amendments, cancellations and releases.
• Coordinate with customs officers and relevant departments to resolve queries affecting bond processing, and ensure supporting documents are complete and properly filed.
• Statutory letters and applications: support the preparation and submission of letters to KRA, KPA, KAA, NTSA and other agencies, deliver and lodge applications, requests, appeals, waivers, refunds and other correspondence, maintain a register of submitted letters, and escalate pending matters to the Supervisor.
• Documentation and records: keep records of bond applications, export documents, statutory letters and approvals, update tracking schedules and the pending-items register, return approved document copies to the office for filing, and maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
• Nairobi export verification: facilitate clearance of Nairobi-based export consignments, coordinate with exporters, customs, transporters and warehouses, follow up on export entries and verification, and help resolve delays or queries affecting export clearance.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding (or equivalent).
• ICMS certificate.
• Good knowledge of KRA customs procedures and documentation.
