Steel Fixing Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Steel Fixing Supervisor to lead reinforcement installation on our construction projects in Kajiado. The role involves interpreting structural drawings, guiding steel fixers, and ensuring all reinforcement work meets quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and explain structural, reinforcement and steel fixing drawings to site teams.
• Supervise the placement, tying, bending, cutting and positioning of reinforcement bars according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and manage Bar Bending Schedules and reinforcement schedules, verifying quantities and dimensions.
• Conduct inspections of installed reinforcement before concrete casting, ensuring correct cover, lap lengths and development lengths.
• Identify and report any discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
• Coordinate with engineers, foremen, surveyors and other site personnel.
• Maintain records of progress, material usage and inspections.
• Support health and safety compliance and participate in toolbox meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in steel fixing, reinforcement works or structural construction.
• Proven ability to read and interpret structural and reinforcement drawings.
• Experience supervising site teams and managing reinforcement schedules.
