Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support our remote team in China by managing project costs, quantities, valuations, and construction budgets for ongoing developments in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify material, labour and work quantities against the approved Bill of Quantities, drawings and specifications.
• Provide accurate local material prices, labour rates and subcontractor costs to the remote QS.
• Conduct market surveys and maintain an up‑to‑date database of construction rates.
• Monitor material usage, identify wastage and cost variances.
• Prepare project valuations, periodic valuation reports and monthly project budgets.
• Assist in cash‑flow forecasts, work schedules and variation assessments.
• Maintain records of BQs, valuations, cost reports and budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years practical Quantity Surveying experience, preferably on residential or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan construction market, material prices and labour rates.
• Ability to read architectural, structural and MEP drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software (preferred).
