Urban Development Expert – Global Projects

About the role

NTU International A/S is building a talent pool of seasoned urban development professionals to support the Global Gateway Transport and Urban Facility 2 project. Selected experts will contribute to sustainable, smart, and resilient city initiatives across Sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia‑Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, appraise and implement sustainable urban development projects and programmes.
• Conduct urban diagnostics, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, technical assessments, and economic‑financial analyses.
• Support integrated land‑use planning, urban strategies, master plans and smart‑city concepts.
• Advise public authorities on urban policies, regulatory frameworks and governance reforms.
• Develop investment pipelines aligned with Global Gateway and the European Green Deal.
• Integrate climate‑change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, green infrastructure and nature‑based solutions into project designs.
• Promote socially inclusive development, gender equality, accessibility and human‑rights considerations.
• Assist in financing strategies, including PPPs and private‑sector participation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in urban development, planning, infrastructure or related sustainability fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work on international, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Strong analytical skills for economic, financial and technical assessments.
• Excellent communication skills for advising public authorities and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Urban diagnostics and feasibility study methodologies.
• Economic and financial analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of integrated urban planning and smart‑city frameworks.
• Understanding of climate‑resilience, green infrastructure and nature‑based solutions.
• Familiarity with PPP and private‑sector financing mechanisms.
