Account Manager – ICT Business Development

About the role

The Account Manager will identify and develop new business opportunities within the ICT sector in Kenya and the wider region. Working closely with technical teams, the role involves preparing proposals, responding to RFPs, and building strong relationships with potential partners and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Locate and propose potential business deals by contacting partners and clients.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop timely proposals and RFP responses.
• Meet or exceed assigned sales revenue targets.
• Screen opportunities by analysing market strategies, financials, and deal requirements.
• Conduct cold and warm calls to set up exploratory meetings.
• Perform informal market research to shape response strategies for hardware and software solutions.
• Profile competitors and develop counter‑measures.
• Follow up diligently on leads and close new deals, negotiating contracts and integrating requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required profile

• A degree in IT, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of business development experience in the ICT sector within Kenya or the region.
• Strong knowledge of the local ICT market.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage projects.
