Accountant – Animal Feed Manufacturing

About the role

Ecofeed Ltd, a leading animal‑feed manufacturer in Nakuru, is looking for a proactive Accountant to own the company’s accounting records, financial controls and management reporting. The role is hands‑on, covering the flow of money, raw materials and finished products across finance, inventory, production, sales and dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Enter all financial transactions accurately and promptly into the ERP system, ensuring each has the required invoice, receipt and approval.
• Maintain a clean general ledger, review postings, correct errors and keep a complete audit trail.
• Perform bank, M‑Pesa, petty‑cash and other control‑account reconciliations, investigating and clearing unidentified items.
• Monitor daily cash positions and flag unusual or unsupported transactions.
• Manage accounts receivable, allocate payments, prepare debtor ageing reports and follow up overdue invoices.
• Prepare regular reconciliations, financial statements and management reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related field with a finance/accounting focus.
• At least four years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or SME environment.
• Good understanding of Kenyan tax and statutory requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Additional advantage: CPA (K) qualification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP or accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience preparing reconciliations and financial reports.
