Accountant – Finance Operations (Nairobi)

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to join our finance team in Nairobi County, Kenya. You will manage day‑to‑day financial operations, ensure accurate record‑keeping, and support both monthly and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
• Reconcile bank and supplier accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring, and financial analysis.
• Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain proper documentation and financial controls.

Required profile

• Strong background in general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and ledger management.
• Experience with budgeting, cash‑flow management, and financial analysis.
• Ability to work with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational abilities.
• High ethical standards, confidentiality, and adherence to internal controls.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus.
• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or distribution sector is beneficial.
