Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting activities, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic banking and finance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and file tax returns.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain supporting documentation.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
