Accountant

About the role

Viazi Kings is a private company buying, selling and distributing agricultural products, focusing on certified seed potato, fertilizers, agrochemicals and ware potatoes. It is recruiting a full-time Accountant in Nairobi to manage the company's day-to-day finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting, cash-flow management, statutory compliance and sound internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, keeping financial records accurate and preparing management accounts and financial statements on time.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and give financial analysis to management and the Board.
• Coordinate budgeting and financial forecasting, monitor expenditure and working capital, and identify ways to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure timely payroll processing and compliance with tax and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, keep proper financial documentation and comply with financial policies and regulations.
• Handle administrative functions such as procurement, office operations, staff administration, asset and records management, and monitoring of licenses and permits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field, or CPA(K).
• At least 4 years of relevant accounting experience, with exposure to agribusiness, agriculture or an agricultural value chain.
• Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and communication skills, with integrity and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
