Accountant

About the role

Maesio Pharmaceuticals Ltd is looking for an experienced, disciplined and proactive accountant in Nairobi. The role works closely with every department to strengthen financial systems, ensure compliance and improve financial accuracy in a fast-growing pharmaceutical supply company. It goes beyond routine bookkeeping: you will improve financial controls, compliance systems and reporting accuracy, and work independently in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with KRA requirements, including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, corporate tax and all statutory filings.
• Manage and remit monthly deductions such as NSSF, NHIF and housing levy.
• Negotiate and contract terms.
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes.
• Balance and reconcile customer accounts, supplier accounts and bank statements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA (K) or ACCA (finalist or completed preferred).
• Minimum 1-5 years of practical accounting experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of KRA compliance and statutory remittances.
• Proven ability to reconcile customer, supplier and bank accounts accurately.
• Nice to have: ERP accounting experience, experience improving internal financial controls, and experience in the pharmaceutical, medical supplies or distribution sector.
