Accounting Manager

About the role

As the Accounting Manager you will lead the day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, quality control and compliance across all financial records. This hands‑on leadership position involves mentoring a team, performing complex financial analysis, building custom Excel models and delivering executive reports.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and streamline daily accounting workflows, set priorities and manage team deadlines.
• Direct, train and mentor accounting staff while conducting rigorous quality‑control reviews of journal entries and reconciliations.
• Apply technical accounting principles to guarantee proper treatment, data accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Build and maintain custom Excel‑based financial reports, complex data models and ad‑hoc analyses to support strategic decisions.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes and produce timely financial statement packages for leadership.
• Perform detailed variance analysis and translate figures into actionable management insights.
• Establish, refine and enforce internal controls, policies and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate external audit, tax preparation and compliance requests with partners and advisors.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing an accounting team or department (e.g., Accounting Manager, Assistant Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant).
• Deep knowledge of technical accounting theory, GAAP and general‑ledger operations.
• Advanced written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain integrity in financial reporting.
• CPA or equivalent credential is a plus.
• Experience in private equity, real estate, investment management or financial services is desirable.
