Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Kisumu. The role involves handling day‑to‑day financial transactions and supporting the preparation of reports in a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record daily financial transactions accurately.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, following up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare payments, invoices and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements and supplier/customer accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports.
• Maintain and update financial records and filing systems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the FMCG sector.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Tally.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
