Accounts Assistant

About the role

ArtCaffe is hiring a full-time Accounts Assistant based in Westlands, Nairobi. The role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, tax compliance and supporting the finance department.

Key responsibilities

• Capture verified financial transactions, post journal entries and keep ledgers up to date.
• Ensure tax compliance by applying withholding tax, VAT, WHVAT and rent withholding accurately.
• Reconcile vendor statements against the company's payable ledger each month.
• Maintain documentation according to the established filing system.
• Support audit readiness by providing documents, schedules and explanations during internal and external auditor reviews.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
• Deliver all assigned key performance indicators on time.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Completed CPA Part 3.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
