Accounts Executive

About the role

The Accounts Executive will join a fast‑moving FMCG/retail finance team in Nairobi, supporting end‑to‑end accounting, financial reporting and analysis. You will work closely with business units to provide accurate financial insights that drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, cash‑flow forecasts and management reports; assist with budgeting and variance analysis.
• Track gross‑margin and profitability trends across products, customers and channels; develop dashboards and deliver actionable insights.
• Ensure statutory compliance by filing returns, coordinating audits and maintaining accurate reporting records.
• Maintain transactions in the ERP system, drive process improvements, develop SOPs and support ERP enhancements.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and bank reconciliations; support month‑, quarter‑ and year‑end closings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 5–8 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, dairy or distribution.
• Strong background in financial reporting, analysis and cash‑flow management.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or CA is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems – SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, Sage, NetSuite.
• Advanced accounting knowledge (P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow, costing, financial modeling, forecasting).
