Advocacy & Partnerships Consultant – Heads of State Initiatives (Remote)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Consultant to support the Heads of State Initiatives (HoSI) within its WASH programme. The role focuses on technical, advocacy and coordination activities to accelerate political commitment, financing and accountability for water, sanitation and hygiene across priority countries.

Key responsibilities

• Update HoSI communication strategy and website.
• Develop country‑level HoSI support packages, technical assistance reports and learning products such as case studies, synthesis briefs and advocacy notes.
• Prepare high‑level briefing notes, talking points and side‑event strategy for the UN Water Conference 2026.
• Produce monitoring reports on compact implementation, financing commitments and post‑conference synthesis.
• Coordinate with UNICEF’s WASH Partnerships, Advocacy and Systems & Governance teams and external partners (e.g., Sanitation and Water for All).

Required profile

• Experience in WASH sector advocacy, partnership development and political engagement.
• Ability to produce high‑quality written outputs for senior leadership and external audiences.
• Familiarity with international development frameworks and multi‑stakeholder coordination.
