AI Tools Associate

About the role

Blue Oak Consulting is seeking an AI Tools Associate to join its remote, lean team. The associate will evaluate and deploy generative AI software that automates the extraction and analysis of financial data for an international development partner. This role focuses on practical utility, accuracy, and repeatability of AI‑driven workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Research and test new AI‑based software that extracts data from unstructured financial documents.
• Draft comparative reports on model accuracy, cost efficiency, and suitability for economic forecasting.
• Set up and maintain internal databases tracking performance of automated workflows.
• Develop simple prompts and scripts to assist senior consultants in processing large regional economic datasets.
• Audit automated outputs to ensure they meet the firm’s standards for financial accuracy and logical consistency.
• Document limitations of current tools to identify where human intervention is required.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on verification and logical rigor.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining clear communication with senior principals.
• Interest in applying AI technologies to finance and international development contexts.

Required skills

• Experience with AI or machine‑learning tools for data extraction.
• Familiarity with financial datasets and reporting requirements.
• Basic scripting or prompt‑engineering capabilities.
