AML and Regulatory Compliance Officer

About the role

The AML and Regulatory Compliance Officer will ensure Old Mutual operates in full compliance with national and international legislation across its subsidiaries. This 2nd line function provides oversight of the compliance management framework and supports business objectives with risk‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regulatory gap assessments, build implementation roadmaps and support subsidiaries in embedding required changes.
• Monitor compliance with laws and regulations in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan, and keep stakeholders informed of regulatory developments.
• Maintain the Regulatory Universe, Compliance Risk Management Plans and conduct regular compliance reviews and audits.
• Lead risk identification campaigns, develop mitigation actions and report findings to senior management and the Board.
• Collaborate with Risk and Internal Audit to design and monitor internal controls using international best practices.
• Act as a trusted advisor on AML, CFT and CPF matters, providing strategic guidance and overseeing the Risk Management and Compliance Programme.

Required profile

• Commercially aware compliance professional with strong AML and regulatory expertise.
• Proven experience in the financial services sector.
• Ability to manage regulatory risk while supporting business objectives through practical, risk‑based solutions.
