About the role
The Kenya Veterinary Board is seeking an Animal Health Officer II to support disease surveillance, field control and regulatory functions across the country. This full‑time position is based in Nairobi and will work under the guidance of senior officers.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and process indexing, internship, registration and licensing applications, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with Board standards.
- Assist in the development and review of veterinary standards, curricula, CPD guidelines and ethical codes.
- Receive, verify and record CPD applications, waivers and pre‑registration examination documents.
- Support inspections of veterinary service facilities, training institutions and animal welfare organisations.
- Participate in market surveillance activities, collect data, and help enforce the Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Paraprofessionals Act.
- Provide information to practitioners and the public on licensing, regulations and ethical requirements.
- Maintain registers of applicants, licensed facilities, CPD activities and market surveillance data.
- Assist in legal and investigative processes related to professional misconduct and non‑compliance.
Required profile
- Degree in Animal Health or related field.
- Registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board.
- Ability to work under supervision of senior officers and handle multiple functional areas.
- Strong attention to detail for data entry, document management and regulatory reporting.
