Application Support Engineer

About the role

As an Application Production Support Engineer you will ensure the reliability and availability of critical payment applications across multiple markets. You will troubleshoot incidents, perform regular maintenance, and work closely with development teams to improve performance and stability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the health of production applications.
• Identify, analyse and resolve application issues and incidents.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as patching and updates.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance performance, reliability and stability.
• Document incident resolutions and track improvements.
• Participate in on‑shift and on‑call rotations for after‑hours support.

Required profile

• Strong experience in the Banking and Financial Services domain.
• In‑depth understanding of acquiring and issuing business models.
• Solid knowledge of payments ecosystems, card management systems, transaction flows, tokenisation and compliance standards.

Required skills

• SQL querying, performance tuning and data integrity checks.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Programming/scripting knowledge in Java.NET, Python and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication.
• Experience with QlikView/QlikSense, Talend and Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of TIBCO Middleware (advantageous).
• Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
