Head of Data, Analytics & AI

About the role

The Head of Data, Analytics & AI will lead Kenya Airways’ transformation through data‑driven strategies, AI innovation and advanced analytics. Reporting to the Chief Information and Data Officer, you will shape the strategic vision, build high‑performing teams and deliver measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Data Privacy Officer to ensure legal compliance for personally identifiable information.
• Define current and future data‑management states, perform gap analysis and benchmark against peers.
• Establish and enforce data‑governance, quality, security and compliance best practices.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Drive research, development and deployment of AI and machine‑learning models to solve complex business problems.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing processes and evaluate emerging technologies for impact.
• Develop and execute a strategic analytics vision aligned with business objectives.
• Lead budget planning for a USD 2.5 million investment and a 3‑5‑year financial roadmap.
• Negotiate and manage SLAs and contracts with analytics service partners.
• Promote a data‑driven culture, data literacy and governance education across the enterprise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering); Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data science or AI, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading data‑science, data‑engineering or AI teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
