Army Fellows Program – Civil Engineer (Geotechnical)

About the role

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering a two‑year Army Fellows Program for recent civil engineering graduates interested in geotechnical work. Fellows receive structured training, mentorship, and hands‑on experience across a portfolio of civil works, military construction, environmental, and emergency‑management projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in geotechnical design and construction of civil engineering structures for civil works and military projects.
• Monitor project progress, resources, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Identify engineering problems, perform calculations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Review design documents, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and construction oversight activities.
• Analyze engineering data and prepare recommendations for project improvements.
• Collaborate with federal, state, local, and industry partners to support project delivery.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (B.S. or M.S.) in Civil Engineering.
• Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
