Art Teacher – Preparatory School

About the role

The school seeks an enthusiastic Art Teacher to deliver high-quality, inclusive art education to pupils of varying ages and abilities. The role involves planning creative lessons, assessing progress and contributing to the school’s vibrant artistic life.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring, inclusive art lessons that develop creativity, technical skills and confidence.
• Plan progressive curricula and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Organise and support school displays, exhibitions, productions and other creative events.
• Collaborate with the Head of Department and colleagues to uphold high standards of teaching, behaviour, safety and pupil welfare.
• Manage and maintain art materials, tools, equipment and learning spaces safely.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Art, Art Education, Fine Art or a related discipline, with appropriate teaching experience or recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge and practical experience across a range of artistic media, techniques and processes.
• Experience teaching art to children at preparatory-school level is desirable.
• Experience within an IAPS or similar preparatory-school setting is desirable.
