Assistant Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper will support the Executive Housekeeper in delivering exceptional cleanliness and service standards across guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces at Fairmont The Norfolk. This role combines operational supervision with guest‑focused problem solving in a historic 5‑star hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily housekeeping operations to ensure service standards are consistently met.
• Maintain guest rooms, public areas, and heart‑of‑the‑house zones to the highest level of cleanliness.
• Monitor labour costs, schedule staff efficiently, and drive departmental productivity.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer on preventative maintenance programmes.
• Address guest concerns promptly, logging issues and notifying relevant departments.
• Manage the departmental budget responsibly.
• Ensure effective communication, coaching, and performance management within the team.
• Attend regular departmental meetings and follow all safety, sanitation, and hotel policies.

Required profile

• College degree in Hotel Management or related administration field.
• 3–5 years of housekeeping management experience, preferably in a 5‑star hotel.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership ability with a focus on team motivation.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Opera PMS (advantageous).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications.
