Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Partnership Agency is hiring an Assistant Financial Controller in Nairobi to manage the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Office. The role covers financial analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, and working capital and cash control.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the finance team, leading and influencing others, advocating sound financial decisions and acting with integrity.
• Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information across all business lines.
• Supervise and perform month-end closing and ensure management reports are processed on time.
• Enforce, document and establish effective controls over revenues, expenses and asset protection.
• Coordinate with department heads on the annual business plan and control capital and FF&E expenditure against justifications and approvals.
• Manage cost control, payables, receivables and income audit, and oversee external and internal audit processes and routine tax audits.
• Review payroll computations, post payroll journals correctly and process statutory payments.
• Ensure the P&L is accurate, reconcile the balance sheet, and deliver statements promptly.
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance, and that account balances are supported by documentation in line with SOPs.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role within a hospitality environment.
• Bachelor of Commerce (Finance or Accounting) or equivalent.
• Professional qualification such as CPA.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Sun System and Infor Q&A.
• Excellent reporting skills.
