Assistant Fleet Supervisor

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Assistant Fleet Supervisor in Kiambu, Kenya, in the FMCG industry. The role supports the Fleet Supervisor by overseeing daily fleet operations, coordinating maintenance and keeping vehicles roadworthy and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily fleet operations, including vehicle and motorcycle deployment, trip scheduling and route planning.
• Coordinate routine servicing, maintenance and repairs, liaise with approved garages and inspect vehicles regularly.
• Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards, road safety regulations and company transport policies, and verify insurance, inspection certificates and licenses.
• Monitor fuel usage, report wastage and support cost-control measures.
• Assist in supervising drivers and riders, monitor their performance and report misconduct or accidents.
• Maintain fleet records such as logbooks, service and repair histories, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics and operations teams and escalate major issues to the Fleet Supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Fleet Management, Transport & Logistics or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in fleet management, vehicle supervision or transport operations.
• Experience in fleet maintenance planning and coordination.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of vehicle and motorcycle mechanics and maintenance and repair processes.
• Organizational and coordination skills, able to manage multiple vehicles and schedules.
• Good communication, attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
