General Manager - Transport & Logistics

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time General Manager in Kiambu (Kirigiti) within the transport, logistics and shipping services industry. The role covers business strategy, sales, operations, logistics and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, market expansion and overall performance.
• Monitor financial and commercial performance, including sales, costs, margins, cash flow and operational expenses.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships and markets.
• Lead the sales function and achieve agreed sales, revenue, customer acquisition and retention targets.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, suppliers and partners.
• Oversee daily operations, distribution, logistics, stock movement and order fulfilment.
• Set up stock-control systems and monitor inventory levels, losses, wastage and variances.
• Improve productivity, service quality, cost control and turnaround times.
• Lead, supervise and develop teams across sales, distribution, logistics, administration and other functions, setting clear performance targets.
• Prepare regular management reports on sales, operations, stock, finance, staffing and key indicators, and ensure compliance with laws, policies and industry requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Sales & Marketing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial operations, distribution, sales, logistics or general management.
• Proven experience managing teams, sales operations, stock and logistics, and managing budgets or financial targets.
• Experience in transport, logistics, distribution or FMCG is an added advantage.
