Assistant Housekeeper

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeper ensures rooms, public areas and laundry are guest‑ready at Severin Sea Lodge, a 188‑room beach resort in Mombasa. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect arrival, stay‑over, VIP and departure rooms, perform evening turn‑down and release rooms to Front Office on time.
• Maintain lobby, walkways, public toilets, pool, restaurants and the Imani Dhow restaurant presentation throughout the day.
• Control house and guest linen, guest‑laundry turnaround and staff uniform presentation.
• Report and follow up on room and public‑area defects until resolved.
• Manage cleaning supplies, guest amenities and chemicals, ensuring proper storage and usage.
• Brief and coach room attendants and supervisors on guest handling, hygiene, security and phone usage.
• Set duty rosters aligned with occupancy to keep standards high and staff fully occupied.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in hotel housekeeping, including supervisory roles.
• Hands‑on experience with room inspection and release to front office.
• Ability to lead shifts, including early starts, weekends and public holidays.
• Clear English communication for team briefings and coordination with Front Office.
• Legally authorized to work in Kenya.
