Assistant Manager, Golf Professional

About the role

Limuru Country Club in Nairobi is looking for an Assistant Manager, Golf Professional to provide professional golf coaching and instruction to members and guests, administer handicaps, support golf competitions and oversee professional golf services. The role also contributes to the development, promotion and growth of the Club's golf programme.

Key responsibilities

• Golf coaching and instruction: deliver individual and group lessons, assess players' abilities, coach golfers of all ages and experience levels, and advise on technique, equipment and course strategy.
• Handicap administration: maintain member handicaps under the World Handicap System, keep records accurate and up to date, and coordinate with the Assistant Manager, Golf Administration.
• Player development: run and coordinate clinics, junior programmes and other development initiatives, monitor their outcomes and recommend improvements.
• Professional golf services: oversee the Golf Department, advise on equipment selection and club fitting, coordinate with suppliers, and supervise the Officer, Golf Range.
• Tournament support: help organize and run Club and interclub competitions under the Golf Management Committee, manage scoring, rules and pairings, and promote participation.
• Financial duties: assist with budgeting for golf operations, track and report revenue from lessons, pro shop sales and events, and help manage costs.
• Member engagement: guide members and guests, respond to enquiries and feedback, and recommend service improvements.
• Rules and standards: keep up to date with the Rules of Golf, the World Handicap System and professional standards, coordinate with Golf Kenya and other bodies, and maintain records of coaching and competition activities.
