Assistant Manager, Risk Management & Compliance

About the role

JKUAT Enterprises Ltd (JKUATES), a state corporation fully owned by JKUAT, is recruiting an Assistant Manager, Risk Management & Compliance (Grade 4, full time, Nairobi area). The role implements the Enterprise Risk Management policy and framework so that the Corporation's assets are safeguarded through a proactive risk approach.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the Enterprise Risk Management policies and framework
• Monitor intervention programs to ensure adherence to AADFI prudential guidelines
• Analyze risks and compliance, and implement risk appraisal and measurement tools
• Review credit and investment applications to identify, measure and mitigate risk
• Prepare quality risk reports
• Maintain a risk and compliance culture and provide support, education and training to staff
• Carry out quarterly compliance and risk assessments

Required profile

• At least 8 years' relevant experience, including 4 in a supervisory role
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business or equivalent, or a Master's degree in a relevant field
• Professional qualification is an added advantage; certification such as CFA, CRMP, RMI-PMI, CRMA or ISO auditor membership is also an added advantage
• Membership of a relevant professional body in good standing
• Management course of at least 4 weeks from a recognized institution
• Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya

Required skills

• Strong analytical, process analysis and modelling skills
• Proven experience performing risk management assessments
• Excellent business acumen, report writing and communication skills
• Attention to detail, critical thinking and team player
