About the role
The Assistant Project Officer will support the implementation, coordination and development of UNEP’s Somalia Country Programme, focusing on the Joint Operational Support Programme (JOSP) and its associated projects (RESTORE and Maareynta). This role ensures effective cross‑programme collaboration, resource mobilisation and communication across ongoing and pipeline initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate cross‑programme activities and support the development of project proposals.
- Mobilise resources and assist in fundraising efforts for JOSP initiatives.
- Develop and manage communication materials, including briefs, reports and outreach content.
- Engage with partners and stakeholders to facilitate project implementation.
- Provide administrative support to ensure timely execution of UNEP activities.
Required profile
- Experience in project coordination and administration within an international or environmental context.
- Strong communication skills for material development and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and teams.
