Associate Professor - Child Psychology

About the role

The University seeks an Associate Professor to lead teaching and research in Child Psychology. This full‑time position involves undergraduate and graduate instruction, mentorship, and scholarly activity within a vibrant academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in child psychology and related specializations.
• Mentor students in academic, career, and personal development.
• Participate in curriculum design and program reviews to keep offerings current and marketable.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Conduct original research and publish in the field of child psychology.
• Engage in university service, professional activities, and community outreach.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the university.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or equivalent) in Psychology with a focus on child psychology or a related specialization from an accredited institution.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral level.
• Publication record meeting CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014).
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya or other relevant professional bodies.
• Supervision of postgraduate students is an advantage.
