Associate Professor in Cyber Security (Grade 14)

About the role

The University seeks an Associate Professor (Grade 14) to provide academic leadership in Cyber Security. The role involves high‑quality teaching, supervising postgraduate research, attracting research funding, and developing innovative academic programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Cyber Security.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, including doctoral candidates.
• Secure research and development grants and manage funded projects.
• Develop and update curricula, fostering strategic partnerships with industry and other institutions.
• Contribute to the university’s research impact and community engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Cyber Security or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum three years of university‑level teaching as a Senior Lecturer, or six years of relevant research/industry experience.
• At least six refereed journal articles (or 48 publication points, with 36 from refereed journals) since appointment as Senior Lecturer.
• Supervised at least four postgraduate students to completion, including one doctoral student.
• Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
• Proven track record of attracting research or development funding.
