Automation Engineering Lead – AI & Automation (Fixed-term)

About the role

One Acre Fund is seeking an exceptional AI and automation engineering leader to build Tupande’s automation capability, deliver high‑impact solutions and scale farmer impact. The role combines hands‑on engineering, strategic partnership with senior leadership and technical leadership across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive Tupande’s AI, automation and engineering strategy in alignment with strategic priorities.
• Translate business needs into a clear engineering roadmap and evaluate emerging technologies for operational efficiency and scalability.
• Lead design and delivery of scalable AI, automation and integration solutions, ensuring reliability, security and performance.
• Establish integration standards across enterprise systems, AI platforms, middleware and APIs.
• Coach and develop a high‑performing engineering team, fostering ownership, innovation and disciplined execution.
• Monitor portfolio health, manage risks and ensure delivery of measurable business impact.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or related field (or equivalent experience with certifications).
• Proven track record delivering production‑grade AI, automation and software solutions with complex enterprise integrations.
• Strong strategic leadership, commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of enterprise systems, digital transformation and change management.
