Barista – Coffee & Beverage Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Barista to join our café team in Westlands, Nairobi. You will be responsible for preparing high‑quality coffee drinks, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, americano and specialty drinks according to recipes.
• Calibrate grinders and espresso machines to ensure consistent extraction and flavor.
• Steam and texture milk to achieve proper temperature and micro‑foam for each drink.
• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately and provide recommendations.
• Maintain hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards at the workstation.
• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups and other supplies, and report shortages.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and support other service areas during peak periods.
• Handle POS transactions and billing accurately when required.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Food & Beverage or Barista training.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a barista in a café or restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of coffee beans, roast profiles and brewing techniques.
