Billing and Financial Specialist

About the role

The Billing and Financial Specialist supports DHL Supply Chain Kenya’s finance function by delivering accurate billing, supplier management, and financial reporting. The role ensures smooth financial operations and contributes to process improvements within the logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, obtain approvals, and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare client invoices, credit notes, and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile revenue against customer billing and resolve payment issues.
• Monitor contract transactional activities, book costs, and verify budgets.
• Update balance‑sheet accounts, perform reconciliations, and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Assist internal and external audits and participate in process‑improvement projects.
• Attend monthly stock counts and ensure finance receives signed‑off inventory sheets.
• Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports for the Site Manager and Commercial Controller.
• Identify inefficiencies in billing and finance processes and recommend improvements.
• Support automation initiatives and system enhancements as directed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience in supplier invoice processing, client billing, and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance, operations, and commercial teams.
