Branch Manager – Kiambu

About the role

CIC Insurance is hiring a full-time Branch Manager for its Kiambu branch, reporting to the Regional Manager – Metropolitan. The role drives revenue growth in the target business, strengthens the company's presence in the region and creates stakeholder value through efficient resource use and a customer-centric approach. The position is open and the deadline is 02/11/2026.

Key responsibilities

• Manage intermediary relationships (brokers, banks and independent agents) and clients to deliver targeted premium outputs across all subsidiaries.
• Lead and support the sales and marketing team, implementing corporate strategy through training and motivation.
• Represent the company in forums such as cooperative society AGMs, leaders' meetings and seminars, and run business promotions with PR staff.
• Manage pipeline business, process quotations and transmit them to intermediaries and clients within agreed time limits.
• Enforce credit control compliance and debt management standards, and draw up and operate SLAs with intermediaries while resolving customer complaints promptly.
• Follow up renewals to meet retention ratios, champion cross-selling for corporate and retail business, and support opening new markets and distribution channels including local check-offs for ordinary life.
• Support daily branch operations including sales processing, policy issuance and claims handling, and coordinate intermediary activities and market intelligence.
• Recruit, train and manage a high-performing sales team and grow the intermediary portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and handle resourcing needs such as recruitment, appraisal, career development and succession planning with the People and Culture department.
• Carry out performance appraisals, coaching and mentoring, and take part in department planning and budgeting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Relevant professional qualification.
• At least six years of relevant experience, including two at supervisory level.
• Customer-focused with strong business acumen, leadership and communication skills, organized and able to work under tight deadlines.
