Brand Manager – Premium Construction Equipment

About the role

JAPAfrica is seeking a senior Brand Manager to lead the development, positioning and commercial growth of premium construction and mining equipment brands across African markets. The role offers strategic exposure to international partners, dealer networks and after‑sales operations, driving brand consistency and market competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop the assigned HCE brand across JAPAfrica markets.
• Define and promote products tailored to the needs of each region.
• Develop and implement the brand’s commercial strategy.
• Support dealer/importer network development from business and operational perspectives.
• Define and execute after‑sales strategy aligned with brand standards.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing and customer needs.
• Track business KPIs, commercial performance and brand development indicators.
• Facilitate negotiations and communication with international partners and manufacturers.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience with premium construction/mining equipment brands.
• Proven background with brands such as CAT, Volvo, Komatsu, Liebherr or equivalent.
• Experience in brand management from an importer, distributor or regional perspective.
• Strong understanding of international markets, dealer networks and after‑sales operations.
• Strategic mindset with ability to set commercial priorities across multiple countries.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently internationally.
• Native or equivalent level of English; additional languages are a plus.
