Business Development Director – Fiat, Crypto & Banking Partnerships

About the role

The Business Development Director will lead the expansion of fiat‑on‑ramp and off‑ramp services across Africa, building and managing banking and payment service provider partnerships for a global fintech company.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional business development strategy for fiat rails.
• Identify, negotiate and onboard banks, PSPs and other payment partners.
• Lead, coach and manage a regional business development team, setting targets and ensuring accountability.
• Collaborate with operations, product, engineering and compliance to support partner integrations.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory matters to inform strategy.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in business development, sales or strategic partnerships within financial services, fintech, payments or digital assets.
• Proven track record sourcing, negotiating and onboarding banking and PSP partnerships across African markets.
• Experience leading and managing a business development or sales team.
• Strong understanding of fiat payment rails, local payment methods and cross‑border payments.
• Data‑driven approach with ability to interpret sales and operational metrics.
• Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
