Business Development Executive - Industrial Sales

About the role

A full-time Business Development Executive is needed in Nairobi to identify and approach potential industrial customers across Kenya. The role involves visiting factories, manufacturers, institutions, contractors and process plants to introduce the company's products and services, and building relationships with procurement officers, maintenance managers, engineers and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Visit factories, manufacturers, institutions, contractors and process plants to introduce the company's products and services
• Follow up with procurement departments to register the company as an approved supplier
• Look for MRO sales opportunities involving industrial spares, valves, machine products, fittings and related engineering items
• Build relationships with procurement officers, maintenance managers, engineers and operations teams
• Generate RFQs and follow up quotations until the purchase order stage
• Update customer contacts, visits, enquiries, opportunities and follow-ups in the CRM
• Prepare weekly reports on customer visits, supplier registrations, RFQs, quotations and the sales pipeline
• Travel within Nairobi and across Kenya to find business opportunities

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Procurement or a related field
• Previous experience in sales, business development, procurement support, customer service or industrial products is an added advantage
• Experience selling to factories, manufacturers, contractors, institutions or process plants is highly preferred
• Confident in approaching new customers and making field visits
• Willingness to travel around Kenya for business development
• Ability to work independently and meet targets
