Sales & Marketing Associate

About the role

A cosmetics, beauty or fashion retailer in Nairobi is looking for a Sales & Marketing Associate. The person attends to customers professionally, recommends suitable products and drives sales, while also promoting the brand at pop-up markets, exhibitions and activations.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to customers professionally, understand their needs and recommend suitable products, upselling and cross-selling where appropriate
• Identify and approach potential business customers such as beauty shops, spas and retailers, and build relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Follow up on sales leads, customer enquiries and potential business opportunities
• Represent and promote the brand at pop-up markets, exhibitions, activations and other events
• Assist in planning and executing sales and marketing initiatives
• Create social media content such as Reels, short-form videos and product demonstrations, and keep up with beauty, fashion and social media trends

Required profile

• At least 2-3 years of experience in sales, marketing or retail, preferably in cosmetics, beauty, skincare, fashion or a related business
• Previous experience in a cosmetics, beauty or fashion store is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently, follow up on leads and take initiative in generating sales
• Professional appearance and good interpersonal skills
• Applicants living in Kilimani or nearby areas are preferred

Required skills

• Strong sales ability and excellent verbal and written communication
• Friendly, confident and customer-focused personality
• Creative mindset and good understanding of Instagram and TikTok
• Comfortable creating social media Reels and short-form video content
• Diploma or certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field is an added advantage but not mandatory
