Business Development Executive - Insurance

About the role

CIC Insurance Group, an insurance and financial services organisation operating in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Malawi, is hiring Business Development Executives. Reporting to the Business Development Manager – Agency Incubation, the role drives revenue growth and expands the new and renewal General Insurance and Medical business portfolio. The aim is to meet corporate annual budgets by developing assigned markets and intermediary channels through strong partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate strategic partnerships and relationships with assigned intermediaries
• Navigate the sales cycle efficiently and provide value-driven service
• Apply client relationship management practices to meet business targets
• Track and report performance against agreed sales and retention goals
• Oversee daily sales activities of assigned intermediaries and keep them informed on new and existing business
• Develop and deliver quotations and tender documents to clients and intermediaries
• Contribute to departmental planning and budgeting
• Ensure compliance with credit control policies through cash and carry and debt collection
• Engage intermediaries through visits, performance reviews, support, training and motivation
• Organise market activations and outreach events in strategic locations
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities and threats

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a business or marketing-related field
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in insurance sales
• COP qualification is an added advantage
