Business Development Manager – East Africa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive Gallagher’s growth across East Africa. Reporting to the Sales Manager for Rest of Africa, you will identify new opportunities, build strategic relationships with customers and channel partners, and expand the reach of our industry‑leading security solutions throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales growth and achieve revenue and margin targets across East Africa.
• Build, manage and convert a robust sales pipeline.
• Identify and win new business across key market sectors.
• Develop and execute market growth strategies to increase market share.
• Establish long‑term relationships with strategic customers and decision‑makers.
• Support channel partners to improve capability, performance and sales success.
• Grow revenue within existing accounts through upselling and cross‑selling.
• Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management and CRM reporting.
• Monitor competitor activity and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
• Provide market insights to inform product and business strategy.
• Represent Gallagher at client meetings, industry events and conferences.
• Travel extensively throughout Africa to support partners, customers and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related commercial discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in business development or sales within a B2B environment.
• Proven track record of driving growth in complex markets.
• Strong ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from channel partners to senior executives.
• Commercially driven with a focus on building relationships and delivering results.
