Business Development Officer (Murang'a)

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive growth by identifying new market opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting sales initiatives to expand the customer base and increase revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research, generate leads, and maintain a qualified prospect pipeline using CRM or Excel.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to prepare customized proposals, quotations, and tender documents.
• Build and nurture relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Support execution of business growth strategies, track KPIs, and report weekly on lead generation, proposals, and closed deals.
• Maintain accurate records of proposals, contracts, and customer interactions while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field.
• 2–5 years proven experience in B2B sales, account management or business development.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
