Business Development Officer - Student Placement and IELTS

About the role

IDP is a global leader in international education services, operating in over 50 countries. The Business Development Officer for Student Placement and IELTS drives business growth across IDP's student placement and IELTS testing services in Nairobi. The role attracts prospective students, increases placement enquiries and IELTS registrations, and builds relationships with educational institutions, corporate organisations, study abroad consultants and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies to grow student recruitment, placements, IELTS registrations and revenue in assigned markets.
• Identify new opportunities through market research, lead generation, networking, school visits, education fairs and direct client engagement.
• Build relationships with universities, schools, consultants and corporate clients to generate referrals.
• Promote IDP's services through presentations, information sessions, campaigns and digital channels.
• Convert leads into applications, placements and registrations, and work with Student Placement, IELTS Operations and Marketing teams.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and partnership plans for prospective clients.
• Monitor competitors and market trends, and track KPIs, CRM records and regular reports on leads, conversions and revenue.
• Ensure compliance with IDP policies, brand guidelines, data protection and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, International Relations, Education or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
• Demonstrable experience in business development, sales, marketing, student recruitment or customer acquisition.
• Experience engaging educational institutions, prospective students, corporate clients and consultants.
• Experience in international education, student placement, IELTS or English language testing is an advantage.
