Cambridge Year 9 Resident Teacher – Mathematics & Science

About the role

Nova Pioneer is seeking a Cambridge Year 9 Resident Teacher to deliver Mathematics and Science to Year 9 students at its Athi River International campus. The role combines classroom teaching with residential duties, ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment that aligns with the school’s enquiry‑based approach. Candidates must have at least three years of teaching experience and a passion for 21st‑century education.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Mathematics and Science lessons in line with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Develop, review and update schemes of work and lesson plans in partnership with the line coach and Curriculum Development Manager.
• Create and organise daily activities, including practical experiments, games, arts, and storytelling, to support physical, mental and social development.
• Prepare classrooms and outdoor spaces, ensuring safety and availability of learning resources.
• Monitor student progress, maintain records and provide written reports to the Principal, school leaders and parents.
• Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning needs.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably with Cambridge programmes.
• Ability to live on‑site as a resident teacher.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to develop curriculum resources.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, parents and staff.
